Dominique, I have put a small unix script file into 
/pub/profile_data.transfer/upack.sh
to be included in the software directory.  It
concatenates ufiles with the

separator lines as required for the iter data
base.  Names for input and output files are
composed automatically based on prompts for
device, "1d" or "2d", shot number, and an optional
"information" field.
