JET_26087_com.dat ITER Profile Database; datasets originally prepared by Pam Stubberfield, Bernard Balet and Knud Thomsen JET, February 1995 and re-issued July 1995. JET shot 26087 is one of the series of hot-ion pulses achieved during the first tritium experiments in JET in November 1991, producing a D-D neutron yield of 4.28E+16 N/S. The dataset files in this subdirectory were prepared from TRANSP run 0890, assuming up-down symmetry, run by PMS on 21 July 1995 on the IBM JAC-2 RS6000 workstation based on JET shot 26087 taken on 2 November 1991. All these files have been prepared according to the Standard list of Variables and File Format manual by D.Boucher (24 October 1994). Tools to produce these files from a TRANSP run were provided by Glen Bateman,Stan Kaye and Ben LeBlanc of PPPL. These have only been modified slightly to run on the RS6000 UNIX workstation, to add 40 secs to all time axes and to include elongation and triangularity. There are 23 1-D Ufiles and 25 2-D Ufiles. The raw data files for TEXP, TIXP etc and the error bar files TEEB, TEIB etc are missing but q profile present. 51 secs Pinis 5 and 6 on Octant 8 are switched on with 2MW of 80KV/D beams. At 52 secs the remainder of the PINIs are switched on with 2MW of 80KV/D in Pinis 3 and 4 on Octant 8 and 6.9MW of 140kV/D in the rest giving a total of 14.9MW of beam heating. At 51.3 secs the plasma changes to X-point formation which causes a sharp increase in the 1d signals for Q95 and LI. In the file JET_26087_0d.dat data is given at two times. At 51.89 secs most of the NB heating is not switched on and the plasma is in steady state L-mode . Shortly after this time full heating is switched on and the plasma goes into H-Mode and then into VH-Mode. By the second time of 53.31 secs the plasma has returned to H-mode. Values for kappa and delta in the 0d, 1d and 2d files are from the TRANSP output derived from the boundary input definition provided by IDENTC2. kappa = (Zmax-Zmin)/(Rmax-Rmin); delta = (RGEO - R(Zmax))/a Values for XPLIM are from the XLOC program and those for SEPLIM from IDENTC2. PLTH is defined by WTH/TAUTH coming directly from TRANSP output and not as defined in the standard list of variables. The 1d files for IP,VSURF and IBOOT have negative values as normal for JET. BT is negative as the pulse was with reversed toroidal field. Some comments on this particular TRANSP run 0890; The run ends at 53.469s just before the second sawtooth and the Carbon bloom. 25ms analysis time resolution; VMEC equilibrium LEVGEO = 5 Boundary definition obtained from the IDENTC2 program Only the current profile and neutral beam fast ion deposition profile are redistributed according to the Kadomtsev prescription at the sawteeth events at 52.373secs and 53.469 secs.
