Tokamak: TFTR Pulse Number: 46290 Contact: M. Zarnstorff Institution: PPPL, Princeton University Date of Shot: January 30, 1990 Analysis Code: TRANSP Run number: 46290a09 Analysis Date: August 10, 1997 Assumptions: Zeff profile determined from carbon density profile measured by CXRS, normalized to a single chord- integral VB measurement. Prior to the start of NBI, Ti profile is calculated assuming chii = 15 x neoclassical, which is the value observed in other expts. During NBI, Ti is measured by CXRS. Due to diagnostic problems associated with the current ramp, the toroidal velocity is not included associated with the current ramp, the toroidal velocity is not included in this analysis, but Vphi is expected to be negligible because the beam injection was very balanced. Due to limited photon statistics, Ti data are coarsely smoothed in time (75-100 ms) which effectively smooths over sawteeth. Te data smoothed with a 20 ms inteval, with breakpoints at sawteeth to preserve discontinuities in Te at sawteeth. Ne data are smoothed with a 5 ms smoothing interval, also preserving sawteeth. Shot Desc.: L-mode balanced NBI (11.2 MW) with slow Ip ramp 1.0 -> 2.0 MA over 1000 ms (3.5-4.5 sec) during NBI (NBI= 3.0-5.0 sec). This shot is a member of a scan of Ip ramp shots with various ramps (up and down) between 1.0 and 2.0 MA. This shot is similar to 46291, which is also present in the ITER database.
