tftr_76770_com.dat = comments file for ITPA WDB Profile Database submission Tokamak: TFTR Pulse number: 76770 Shot description, purpose of the shot: Exceptional D-T supershot with 19.5 MW T-NBI, 14.1 MW D-NBI achieving near steady state with P_DT=7.6MW Contact persons: Robert Budny (budny@princeton.edu) Institution: PPPL Date of shot: 19940527 Time of interest = 4.02 s Analysis codes: TRANSP Run number: 76770C01 done at PPPL, available via mdsplus Date of analysis: 20051107 TRANSP run by Robert Budny Additional information on this shot: The stored energy reaches a peak at the time of interest, 4.02s, then rolls over. There is no real stationary time during the beam pulse; 4.02 sec was chosen because it is the peak of the stored energy. MHD - mainly fishbone, but also m/n=6/5 at Q=1.2 at 295cm or 5/5 fishbones at Q=1 at 285cm; Perhaps a localized interchange mode near q=1 confined to q=1 around R=295cm Assumptions for analysis: ECE for Te(r,t), MIRI for ne(r,t), CHERS for Ti(r,t), Carbon density profiles and VB used for Zeff profile. Sawtooth analysis using sawteeth observed in ece. Wall recycling from h-alpha. Evolving boundary from magnetics 80 zone TRANSP run using ESC for equilibrium. NM1, NM2, NM3, NM4 files for H, D, T, and impurity thermal ions Publications: 1) see R.Budny, Nuclear Fusion <34>, p1247 (1994) 2) TRANSP analysis of another TFTR supershot is discussed in "Fusion alpha parameters in tokamaks with high DT fusion rates", R.Budny, Nuclear Fusion <42>, (2002) p1383
